About your tutor
Previously working as a nurse and midwife for 27 years Colleen was burned out and needed a change.
She quit her job and continued her studies in fashion design, landed a job in the fashion industry, and worked freelance as a sample maker and pattern maker.
She created her own fashion label Addison Ash in 2015.
Recently, she realised how healing it had been to be creative, and felt that she could help others with their creativity.

What's in this course
Week 1 - We take your measurements, then using an industry standard block we adjust the block to your measurements and shape, then we make a toile out of calico
Week 2 - 4 - The toile is tried on and any alterations will be made to correct the fit and make the best fitting pant for you. At this time you learn all the different alterations which you can do for the different fitting issues you may encounter with pants
Week 5 - 9 You use your block to create a pattern for a pair of pant that you will make in class.
This is where all the magic begins!! Learn the different processes of how to change the block into different styles with different features, and experience the freedom of making your own patterns and your own style.
Whilst making your pants, after you've finalised the pattern, you learn the best and easiest way to make your pants, the common sense way.
Along the way making your pants, you learn all the professional finishes that will make your pants look amazing and that will make you feel amazing!

What if I cant attend one of the sessions?
If you can’t make it to a class, you can come to a catch-up freestyle session at a convenient time within the 8 weeks, and I can teach you what you missed.
However, I do prefer to keep the course together if possible.

What do I need to bring?
Nothing initially
Initially, all we need is your measurements which we will take in class.
All the equipment, card and calico is supplied for this course whilst you're creating your block.
Once you've made your block, when you wish to sew your pants you'll need to supply fabric and anything else which is required to make your pants, eg. zip, interfacing etc.

Equipment
The studio is fully equiped with enough sewing machines and overlockers for everyone, (there are only 3 people in this course). However if you wish to bring your own machine you are most welcome to.
Otherwise, all equipment is supplied.

Do you have a course cancellation policy?
When you pay your course fees you secure your spot (1 of a possible 3) in the course.
At least 1 week's notice of cancellation is required to facilitate a refund of 80% of the course cost.
Cancellation of the course within 1 week of the course starting date will result in full loss of investment.

Do you have a general class cancellation policy?

Cancellation within 72 hours of the class start time will result in a $50 cancellation fee when rescheduling.
If more than 72 hours notice of cancellation is given, rescheduling to another date or time of your convenience is facilitated.
This policy relates to all booked classes, single Freestyle classes and classes booked as a part of a block of classes, course sessions or make up classes for courses.
